Make everyday litter-box maintenance more convenient with the PetSafe ScoopFree 2022 Ultra Automatic Self-Cleaning Litter Box for Cats. This automatic litter box uses a rake mechanism to move solid waste into a covered compartment after your cat finishes using the box, reducing the need for routine manual scooping.
Designed to work with specially formulated crystal litter, the ScoopFree Ultra features an adjustable cleaning timer and a privacy hood. Its covered waste compartment helps contain waste, while the automatic cleaning mechanism makes regular litter-box care more convenient for cat parents.
Use only the compatible PetSafe ScoopFree crystal litter trays specified for this model. Do not substitute clay litter, clumping litter or another unapproved litter type, as the rake mechanism is designed to work with the specified crystal litter system.
Check the litter tray regularly and replace it when required. The replacement interval varies with the number of cats using the box and their individual habits. Follow the manufacturer's cleaning, setup and disposal instructions to maintain the unit correctly.
PetSafe's manual instructs owners to keep the unit unplugged and scoop waste manually if a kitten is under six months old. Do not run the automatic cleaning cycle for kittens below this age. Introduce the litter box carefully and supervise your cat while it becomes familiar with the equipment.

The PetSafe ScoopFree 2022 Ultra is an automatic litter box for cats that uses a rake to move solid waste into a covered compartment after use. It is designed to reduce routine manual scooping and uses compatible crystal litter trays. The Ultra model also offers an adjustable cleaning timer and a usage counter. Check the model details before purchasing to confirm the features available on your specific unit.
Sensors detect when your cat has used the litter box, and the rake cycle starts after the selected delay. On the Ultra model, the timer can be adjusted to 5, 10 or 20 minutes after your cat leaves. The rake moves solid waste into the covered waste compartment. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for setup, cleaning and troubleshooting.
This ScoopFree model is designed for compatible PetSafe ScoopFree crystal litter trays. PetSafe advises against using clay litter, clumping litter or other unapproved litter types because the cleaning mechanism is designed for the specified crystal litter system. Check the exact model's manual and replacement-tray compatibility before ordering refills. Using the correct tray helps the unit operate as intended.
PetSafe's manual states that if a kitten is under six months old, the unit should remain unplugged and waste should be scooped manually until the kitten reaches six months. Do not operate the automatic rake for kittens below that age. For older kittens, introduce the litter box gradually and follow the manufacturer's safety guidance. Contact PetSafe support if you are unsure whether your cat is ready to use the unit.
The system uses crystal litter that absorbs moisture and helps manage odour, while the covered waste compartment conceals collected solid waste. Actual odour control depends on usage, the number of cats, litter condition and timely tray replacement. Inspect the tray regularly and replace it when required. Keep the surrounding area clean and follow the manufacturer's maintenance instructions.
Tray life depends on how many cats use the litter box and their individual habits, so there is no single interval that suits every household. PetSafe provides different replacement guidance according to the number of cats and notes that some cats may require more frequent changes. Check the manufacturer's current recommendations and inspect the tray regularly. Replace it when the litter is saturated or the tray needs changing.
The Ultra model includes a usage counter that records cleaning cycles, which can help you observe changes in litter-box use. It should not be treated as a veterinary diagnostic device or as a substitute for monitoring your cat's health. The Fifozone listing does not confirm app connectivity for this SKU, so do not assume that it sends phone notifications. Consult the model manual for the exact counter functions.
