GOclin is a veterinary antibiotic for dogs and cats that contains Clindamycin hydrochloride, a lincomycin antimicrobial that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis at the ribosomal (50s sub-unit) level. It provides excellent antimicrobial activity, even against biofilm-forming bacteria, making it effective in treating both dental and bone infections. GOclin concentrates in leukocytes, quickly reaching the infection site to target intracellular pathogens, and is widely distributed in body fluids and bone tissues.
This protein-flavoured, highly palatable tablet is designed to mask the bitter taste of medicine, making administration easier for pets. The tablets start showing effects within 1 to 2 hours, with peak serum concentration achieved within 1 hour post dosing. About 90% of clindamycin is rapidly absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract of dogs and cats, ensuring effective treatment of infections.
